I learned how to TIG weld at Artisan’s Asylum while they were still in Somerville. I fell in love with the enforced meditation as you try to patiently guide a milimeter-sized spark across molten metal in complete darkness.
The star pattern above is from some twisty scultures that plants can climb in my back yard, and below is the frame to a table I built. That second project required far, far more precision in cutting big tubes of metal than I had ever had to think about before.
